Law on competition 2004/36 has aim to ensure sustainable development of the market economy of Kosova by prohibited actions that limit, by doing pressure or disturb competition. This law operates to ensure free and effective competition in the market by relying on three main pillars that define the protection:

  • Anticartel
  • Abuse of dominant position
  • Mergers or  concentrations of undertakings

The establishment of free competition and its protection are a vital segment of the existence of the market economy that competition has an important place in economic policy. This institution outlines its function as promoter and advocates of competition and the interests of consumers and businesses, with the final aim that market to generate the development.
